Job Purpose

The Institute for Governance and Leadership (IGL) is the practice-oriented arm of the School. Its mission is to improve governance in Asia by educating the next generation of Asian leaders in public service and beyond. IGL is dedicated to delivering leadership development initiatives in public policy and governance, fostering practitioner-focused writing, and cultivating case writing for instruction. Through its programmes and activities, IGL will also enhance the School\'s current efforts to foster dialogue and collaboration between academics and practitioners.

In this senior-level position, the Senior/Associate Director will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Director and managing the daily operations of the Institute.


  • Strategic Oversight: Provide strategic leadership by overseeing day-to-day operations, program management, and administration to ensure alignment with the Institute\'s mission and goals.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, resources, procurement, and billing processes, optimizing fiscal responsibility and resource allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire the administrative team to excel in their roles, fostering a culture of professionalism, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Program Management: Implement new programs and services, staying attuned to the evolving landscape of governance and leadership education.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of quality, ensuring that the Institute\'s governance and leadership training programs meet the rigorous criteria set by relevant quality assurance frameworks.
  • Outreach: Utilize your skills in outreach to actively promote our programs and services to potential participants and partners. This involves strategic marketing and engagement strategies to expand our reach.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and educational institutions.
  • General Administration Oversight: Oversee the holistic management of administrative functions, including human resources, procurement, technology, and finance.
Qualifications
  • Master\'s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., public administration, business administration, or education).
  • At least 10 years of experience in fields such as program management, business development, partnership management, outreach, procurement, billings and payments, and general administration.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
